New Hampshire Saltwater Fishing Licenses
To buy saltwater fishing license credentials, anglers must first familiarize themselves with the various fishing license options provided by the Fish and Wildlife Department. While many states offer saltwater fishing permits with different lengths of validity, as well as discounts on saltwater licenses depending on your age, New Hampshire has more limited saltwater fishing license options. New Hampshire Freshwater Fishing License
Anglers can buy freshwater fishing permits instead of saltwater fishing permits if they plan to fish primarily in inland streams, lakes and ponds. All applicants must complete the New Hampshire freshwater fishing license application process in order to receive a freshwater fishing license. Unlike saltwater fishing permits, the NH Fish and Game Department offers a number of freshwater license options with varying validity periods and discounts. New Hampshire’s wildlife department offers five types of freshwater fishing licenses with varying lengths of validity, including:
- One-day fishing licenses.
- Three-day fishing licenses.
- Seven-day fishing licenses.
- One-year fishing licenses.
- Lifetime freshwater fishing permits.
The fees for freshwater fishing licenses vary depending on how long the license is valid for, the age of the applicant and whether or not the applicant is a resident or non resident. One-day fishing licenses and annual fishing licenses are available to both residents and non residents, while three-day and seven-day licenses are only available to non residents. Lifetime fishing licenses are available to residents of New Hampshire only.
Though the Fish and Game Department offers licenses to both residents and nonresidents of the state, the fees for each vary greatly. Residents receive a discount when they buy freshwater fishing licenses, so long as they can provide proof of their residency. A NH driver’s license will often suffice as both proof of residency and identification.
Additionally, senior citizens have the option to buy a New Hampshire senior freshwater fishing permit through the Fish and Game Department. The senior citizen fishing license is only available to residents of New Hampshire who meet the age requirement.
